President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has announced that the Giraavaru Falhu land reclamation project is progressing daily and is set to conclude in April, allowing the handover of surveyed land plots to commence in June.
The President shared these updates today on his official X account, as part of ongoing efforts to keep the public informed on key Government initiatives. He initially announced the start of the reclamation project via the platform on 30 January this year, and later revealed on 13 February that the operation was being expedited with two dredgers working simultaneously.
During the 'Rayyithunnaa Eku Kuriah - Hafthaa 104' function held at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE) to mark the Government's two-year anniversary, the President elaborated on the Administration's housing policy, reaffirming its commitment to allocating fully reclaimed land plots to citizens. He had previously confirmed that plots in the Malé region would be distributed upon the successful reclamation of both Giraavaru Falhu and Hulhumalé Phase III.
