Ahmed Saleem, recipient of the Most Distinguished Foreign Service Medal and the first President of the Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM), has presented President Dr Mohamed Muizzu with a copy of his book 'HRCM ge Han'dhaanthah.’

The President officially launched the book during a meeting held at the President's Office this morning.

The book chronicles the establishment and early operations of the Commission, Ahmed Saleem's experiences during his five-year tenure as its President, and key historical developments that contributed to shaping the country's democratic system.

Ahmed Saleem was among the initial members appointed when the Commission was established by Presidential Decree in 2003. He went on to serve as the first President of the Commission under the 2008 Constitution, which remains in effect today.
