President Dr Mohamed Muizzu visited ADh. Mandhoo this evening to inaugurate the newly developed futsal pitch, following an invitation extended by the island’s youth.
He was warmly welcomed by the community upon arrival and was accompanied by Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef, Cabinet Ministers, and senior officials from Government institutions and State-Owned Enterprises.
During the President’s visit to Mandhoo on 8 October, the island’s youth requested that a futsal pitch be developed by the end of November. To honour the community’s request, the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) was commissioned to complete the pitch – fully equipped with lighting and modern turf – within a notably short period.
To commemorate the inauguration, President Dr Muizzu took part in a friendly futsal match, joined by the Vice President and Cabinet Ministers, securing a 6–2 victory against the team from Mandhoo.
