Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef has attended the closing ceremony of the Thila Uthuru Futsal Tournament 2025 as the guest of honour, held at the Utheemu Football Ground.

Upon arrival, the Vice President was welcomed by the President of Haa Alif Atoll Council, Moosa Shafeeq, and the President of Utheemu Island Council, Abdulla Rasheed.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Vice President highlighted that hosting such a tournament at the atoll level represents an important milestone and a valuable social initiative. He noted that the tournament is more than merely a sporting event, serving as a platform that strengthens community bonds and generates economic benefits.

The Vice President also expressed his appreciation to the Atoll Council for organising the event and reaffirmed the Government’s continued support and cooperation in hosting similar competitions in the future.

The final match of the tournament was contested between Muraidhoo and Utheemu, with Utheemu emerging as the champions.

The Vice President presented the crown to the King of the Tournament and awarded gold medals and the championship trophy to the winning team.
