President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that all ongoing and contracted development projects in ADh. Kun'burudhoo proceed without disruption and are brought to completion.

He gave this assurance during a meeting at Kun'burudhoo School with the Island Council, heads of local institutions, and community members, as part of his ongoing tour of inhabited islands in South Ariatholhu.

During the meeting, agreements were signed for the Kun'burudhoo land reclamation and harbour development project, as well as a school project, both awarded to the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company Limited (MTCC). The President highlighted that these initiatives represent a significant step forward for the island’s development and emphasised that each project will be executed with careful oversight and consistency.

President Dr Muizzu also officially handed over the Fofalha Gau lagoon in the atoll to the Kun'burudhoo Island Council, following his decision to incorporate it as part of the island.

He assured residents that on-site work for the land reclamation and harbour development project will commence this November and further announced that a housing project will be launched on the island next year, even before reclamation works are completed.

Throughout the meeting, the President engaged with council members and residents, who shared their key concerns and priorities for the island’s social and infrastructural development. Ministers and heads of State-Owned Enterprises in attendance also provided updates on the progress of ongoing development projects.
