Vice President Uz Hussain Mohamed Latheef has inaugurated the photo exhibition ‘Vocational Journey in Frames,’ organised by Maldives Polytechnic to mark the 50th anniversary of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) services in the Maldives.
The inauguration ceremony was held this morning at the SIFCO Hall. Following the official opening of the exhibition, the Vice President signed a commemorative board prepared for dignitaries. He was also presented with a product made by students of Maldives Polytechnic, which was handed over by the institution’s Chief Executive Officer, Zooshan Kamaludeen.
Afterwards, the Vice President toured the exhibition, which features a collection of photographs highlighting the invaluable contributions of the TVET sector to the Maldives’ development, as well as the future plans to further strengthen this field. The exhibition will remain open to the public on 7 and 8 October at the SIFCO Hall.
As the nation’s demand for skilled and productive workers continues to grow, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu places strong emphasis on advancing technical and vocational education and nurturing such talent to meet the country’s evolving needs.
TVET services in the Maldives, conducted under various names over the decades, were officially launched in October 1975.
