As part of his ongoing tour of four atolls, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met and held discussions with the residents and leadership of Mulakatholhu Veyvah, today.
During the meeting, held at Veyvah School, members of the community highlighted several socio-economic needs. They requested the development of sports facilities, the creation of an enabling environment for tourism on the island, the initiation of a housing project, and measures to address space constraints at the school.
After listening to these concerns, the President assured the community that development projects earmarked for the island would be implemented at an accelerated pace. He confirmed that the harbour development project would be included in the 2026 budget and pledged to resolve the space constraints at the school by the beginning of the 2026 academic year. With regard to health and wellness, he stated that practical work on the relevant projects, such as the upgradation of the Health Centre, would commence within this year.
He added that the target is to ensure the resumption and timely completion of projects that have stalled at various stages, within this year and early next year.
