President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the HDh. Finey Island Council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and heads of local institutions today to discuss the island’s most pressing development needs. The meeting was held at the Secretariat of the Finey Island Council.
During the discussions, the Council highlighted several key priorities, including the expansion and modification of the ongoing harbour development project, relocation of the school to enable expansion, facilitation of road upgrades, and the installation of electricity cables in both the tourism zone and newly populated areas. The Council also stressed the need for a new council office building to address administrative challenges and requested the development of a modern futsal ground, as the current turf field is no longer suitable for use.
President Dr Muizzu assured the Council that the Government would give due consideration to their concerns and work towards practical solutions. He also provided updates on ongoing development projects. The President was accompanied at the meeting by Cabinet Ministers and senior officials from State-Owned Enterprises.
