President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with members of the B. Thulhaadhoo Island Council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and heads of local institutions today to discuss the island’s key development priorities. The meeting took place at B. Thulhaadhoo School.

During the meeting, council members highlighted the need to designate an island where residents could travel for picnics and urged swift action to resolve the matter. They also pressed for the acceleration of two major projects: housing construction for local residents and the completion of the island’s court building. Additional concerns included the need for spare parts for the island’s power plant and the establishment of a handball court.

Institutional heads present at the meeting highlighted the need for repairs and additional administrative staff for B. Thulhaadhoo School, as well as staffing for the Thulhaadhoo Health Centre.

In response, President Dr Muizzu assured that the Government would review the issues raised and work towards effective solutions. He also provided updates on ongoing development projects on the island, accompanied by Cabinet Ministers and heads of State-Owned Enterprises.
