President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has officially inaugurated the Hulhumalé Dialysis Centre, a specialised facility designed to provide essential dialysis treatment for individuals living with kidney disease. The inauguration ceremony took place at the Orange Hiya building.

The event began with a video presentation showcasing the new facility, followed by a guided tour of the centre.

Managed by the Malé City Group of Hospitals, the centre features 30 dialysis beds and is expected to significantly ease the burden on patients who previously had to travel abroad for treatment. It is a major step forward in improving access to quality healthcare for those with chronic kidney conditions.

Eliminating the need for Maldivians to seek essential medical care overseas remains a key priority of President Dr Muizzu’s administration. In line with this commitment, healthcare development projects worth over MVR 400 million are currently underway across the country.
