President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has established the Embassy of Maldives in the State of Qatar. The announcement was made in a directive issued by the President’s Office today.

The new embassy will function under the administrative oversight of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was established under the authority granted to the President by Article 116 of the Constitution of the Republic of Maldives.

According to the directive, the embassy aims to strengthen bilateral relations and promote cooperation between the Maldives and Qatar in areas such as education, politics, the economy, and defence.

The directive also outlined the responsibilities of the embassy and specified the official name of the establishment.

All correspondence directed to the Embassy of Maldives in Qatar will reference the number 502.
