His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conveyed greetings and sincere good wishes to His Excellency President Ilham Heydar oglu Aliyev and His Excellency Prime Minister Ali Hidayat oghlu Asadov of Azerbaijan on the occasion of the country’s Independence Day.
In separate messages to the Azerbaijani President and Prime Minister, President Dr Muizzu expressed that this historic milestone in Azerbaijan's journey towards sovereignty and self-determination symbolises the resilience and unity of the Azerbaijani people.
President Dr Muizzu also extended his personal best wishes for their good health, happiness, and wellbeing, and for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Azerbaijan.
Earlier today, the President also posted on his official X account, reaffirming the Maldives’ commitment to strengthening friendship and cooperation with Azerbaijan in the years ahead.
Each year, this day commemorates the establishment of Azerbaijan as a democratic republic on May 28.
