President Dr Mohamed Muizzu graced the Maldives Expo 2025 Award Ceremony held Thursday evening at the Maldives Centre for Social Education (MCSE).

During the ceremony, the President presented awards to top scorers in various categories, including the Golden Prize awarded to the five highest-scoring exhibits at the Expo.

Golden Prize Winners (Top 5 Exhibits Overall):

  3. Maldives Polytechnic
  4. Mohamed Moosa
  5. Ali Mahir

Category-wise First Prize Winners:

  1. Individual Category: Lujain Ali Waheed
  2. Island Category: GA. Villingili Council
  3. City Category: Addu City Council
  4. Business Category: CDC Kitchen Pvt Ltd
  5. Education Centre Category: Maldives Polytechnic
  6. People with Disabilities Category: Fathimath Shafagath
  7. NGO Category: The Women Entrepreneurs Association Maldives (WEAM)
  8. City/Island Participation Category: Addu City, Hithadhoo
  9. State-Owned Enterprise Category: State Electric Company Limited (STELCO)

A total of 275 awards were presented at the ceremony. The exhibition featured 383 participants, showcasing local creativity across 14 categories and 82 sub- subcategories. The majority of entries were from the manual labour sector. Participants represented islands from Haa Alif to Laamu Atoll. Among all the participants, Malé and Thulhaadhoo in Baa Atoll submitted the most entries to the exhibition.

More than 3,600 items were submitted for consideration via application forms, reflecting strong nationwide participation.

The decision to host Maldives Expo 2025 was made by President Dr Muizzu on 19 May 2024, following a Cabinet recommendation. The Expo aims to boost national productivity and expand economic opportunities.

The exhibition will be held from May 23-31, 2025, at Central Park, Hulhumalé, and will officially open to visitors at 8:30 pm on Friday.
