President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has urged all citizens to align their actions with and adhere to the teachings of the Holy Quran. Speaking at the Huffaz Graduation Ceremony on Wednesday evening at the Islamic Centre, he emphasised the Quran’s role as a practical “guide book” rather than a text recited solely at official events.
He stressed that restoring human dignity, which is currently eroding in society, requires integrating Quranic teachings into daily life. The President urged people to avoid actions forbidden in the Quran, including defamation, division, and spreading falsehoods.
Highlighting the importance of mutual respect for societal progress, he underscored Islam’s emphasis on faith and protecting fellow Muslims from harm—whether through actions or words. He asserted that society would improve if individuals treated others with the same respect and dignity they expect for themselves.
Before concluding, the President reiterated that development is hollow unless grounded in faith and aligned with Quranic principles.
