President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the Dh. Meedhoo Island Council, the Women's Development Committee (WDC), and heads of institutions to address the island's important developmental needs. The meeting was held at Meedhoo Council Secretariat on Monday evening.

During the meeting, the Council shared with the President the aspirations of the citizens, discussed issues of housing, waste management, harbour congestion, and the lack of a beach area following land reclamation. Additionally, the Council appealed to upgrade the Health Centre to a level four centre. They also praised the Administration's approach to public health, commending them for banning vaping, and shared details of what was required for the youth of the island.

The WDC and Heads of Institutions also noted the Administration's developmental initiatives with appreciation.

The President provided an update on the recent work being carried out by the Government through the Cabinet Minister to the Council members, the WDC, and various institutions in their respective areas.

Prior to the meeting, the President attended the commencement of the Meedhoo Health Centre extension wing, as well as the inauguration of the services of the newly established Bank of Maldives (BML) ATM.
