President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the Dh. Ban'didhoo Island Council, the Women's Development Committee (WDC), and heads of institutions to address the island's important developmental needs. The meeting was held at Ban'didhoo School.

During today's meeting, the head of Ban'didhoo Health Centre highlighted the need for an extension wing for the health centre.

The Council recognised the problems of erosion and land scarcity on the island and urged for a solution. Additionally, the Council requested that Dh. Kanneiyfaru, which is located near the island, be placed under the island's jurisdiction to facilitate development projects. The Council also called on the Government to address the shortage of facilities and space within the school.

The WDC members emphasised the Government's support for their initiatives; however, they noted a lack of space for them to continue their work, indicating that a solution is necessary.

The President shared an update on the recent work being carried out by the Government through the Cabinet Minister with the Council members, the WDC, and various institutions in their respective areas. He also highlighted the efforts being made to address the concerns raised by the Council.

Prior to the meeting, the President attended the commencement of the Ban'didhoo ice plant project and inaugurated the services of the newly established Bank of Maldives (BML) ATM.
