President Dr Mohamed Muizzu underscored the priority of the Government is to mobilise state-run companies to resume and complete stalled projects nationwide. He made these remarks while speaking to the Uligamu residents.
Speaking on the occasion, the President highlighted that many projects in Uligamu and other parts of the country were stalled after being handed over due to various challenges. These projects, he noted, are vital for national development and public well-being. He emphasised the importance of continuing such initiatives to benefit the people and stated that the Government aims to mobilise state-owned companies to ensure their completion. The President assured the Government’s full commitment to achieving this goal.
President Dr Muizzu also announced that the development of a yacht marina in Uligamu would commence in February. He also revealed that a buoy for sports fishing will be installed the same month, benefiting the local community.
The President emphasised that improving healthcare services is a key aspiration of the people of Uligamu. To address this, the project will be handed over to MTCC next month. During his visit, he toured the Uligamu Health Centre and engaged with the staff to understand the services provided and the challenges faced.
As part of his outreach visits to connect with communities and address their concerns, the President met with the residents of Uligamu. During the meeting, the Bank of Maldives and Uligamu Island Council signed to establish ATM services on the island.
