First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed has emphasised that the nation's broadcasting service has been instrumental in connecting the scattered islands across vast oceanic distances.
She made these remarks whilst speaking at the "Visions of the Future" art competition awards ceremony at the National Art Gallery.
Highlighting the broadcasting sector's significance, she stressed the importance of educating students about the field and fostering their interest. She noted that initiatives like the Broadcasting Commission's art competition could help shape students' career paths.
She also underscored the importance of younger generations understanding the national significance of television and radio broadcasting.
The First Lady presented the ceremony's most prestigious awards, followed by a commemorative photo session. She then viewed the "Visions of the Future" artwork exhibition.
