Minister of Health of the Republic of Estonia, Her Excellency Riina Sikkut, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu during his official visit to the Republic of Estonia.
The meeting focused on sharing valuable insights and knowledge about Estonia’s journey in transforming its healthcare sector through digitalisation. Estonian Health Minister highlighted the significant benefits it has brought to the public, such as improved efficiency, accessibility, and quality of care, while also addressing the challenges faced during the process and the solutions implemented to overcome them.
President Dr Muizzu expressed his keen interest in learning from Estonia’s expertise and adapting its successful strategies to enhance the Maldivian healthcare system. He emphasised the importance of providing same level of high-quality healthcare across all islands, including remote areas, and explored how digital solutions could bridge gaps in service delivery.
The meeting highlighted a shared commitment to further strengthening Maldives-Estonia relations in the healthcare sector.
