President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has assured that the future is bright for Maldivian farmers. He made these remarks while addressing the residents of Nilandhoo island during his visit to several islands in Huvadhu Atoll on Wednesday.
Stating that the Government aims to improve the functioning of the agriculture sector, the President noted that the Administration has begun ensuring food security for the nation, as well as finding investors for the sector. The President further said that agriculture was a vital sector in diversifying the economy. As such, he said that farmers of the island and the country are poised to benefit from the sector.
As part of his policy of developing a health centre in the island where the population of the island can be adequately served, the President assured expansion of health services in Nilandhoo as well. He assured that stalled projects, such as that of the water and sewerage network and harbour, will resume. President Dr Muizzu further pledged to develop a multipurpose hall for the island’s school, adding that the pledge would be fulfilled along with the ones made during the campaign.
The developmental projects of the island, he said, would be actualised, with the residents benefiting from them.
