President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has stated that this Administration would prioritise the education sector, when factoring in the developmental needs for Vaadhoo island in 2025.
He made these remarks while addressing the residents of Vaadhoo island during his visit to several islands in Huvadhu Atoll on Tuesday. The community meeting was held in Vaadhoo Jamaluddin School, a school named after the scholar Al-fageehil Hafiz Mohamed Jamaluddinul Mahlee, or more commonly titled, “Vaadhoo Dhanna Kaleyfaanu”.
Speaking to the residents of the island in the school, the President assured that the Administration would prioritise on the education sector needs of the island.
Noting the island’s proud and enduring legacy of educational pursuits, the President said the Administration would honour this legacy. As such, the President said this year would see the start of initiatives to alleviate the needs, pledging the Administration’s full support to the initiatives.
In his address the President also pledged to find effective solutions to the status of roads in the island – the next priority on the island’s developmental needs. He further pledged to bring in much needed changes to the island’s health sector.
Additionally, the President also pledged to restart the stalled waste management initiative and resume operations this year.
President Dr Muizzu said that 2025 and 2026 will be spent in pursuit of effectively implementing election and manifesto pledges and bringing in results that would be felt across the nation.
The President also urged a return to and a revitalisation of ethics and moral values, while the nation pursues infrastructure development. Concluding his address to the residents of the island, the President appealed all to unity and camaraderie in pursuit of national development.
