President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has departed on a visit to Huvadhu Atoll on Tuesday morning.
The President is to visit five islands of the South Huvadhu Atoll and four islands of North Huvadhu Atoll.
The President will visit Hoandehdhoo, Nadellaa, Vaadhoo, Fiyoari and Rathafandhoo islands of South Huvadhu Atoll. He is also set to visit Kan’duhulhudhoo, Nilandhoo, Maamendhoo and Dhevvadhoo islands in North Huvadhu Atoll.
President Dr Muizzu will inaugurate the water and sanitation network service in Hoandehdhoo island during this visit. The President will meet citizens, inquire on the island’s developmental needs and address the citizens. Additionally, he is to meet Maamendhoo and Dhevvadhoo Councils to have a deeper understanding of the challenges facing the citizens and their developmental needs.
This tour is part of the President’s pledge from 2024 to engage with local councils across the atolls, islands, and cities.
The President is accompanied by Cabinet Ministers and senior Government officials on this tour.
The tour is to be completed on Thursday.
