Allow me to begin my brief remarks by extending a very warm welcome, and my sincere gratitude to His Excellency Abdulla Nasser Lootah, for personally taking the time to attend this pivotal event in the Maldives.
Your presence reflects the UAE government’s strong commitment to the Maldivian government’s capacity development program.
I also extend sincere gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice President of the United Arab Emirates and ruler of Dubai.
His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Deputy Prime Minister of UAE as well as to the Government of UAE on behalf of the Government of Maldives, for their unwavering support and invaluable assistance to the development agenda of the Maldives, over the past decades. Your contributions have significantly enhanced our nation’s development and strengthen the bond between our countries.
Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,
I am delighted to be here for the official opening of the Maldives Executive Leadership Program. Today, marks the launch of the second batch of the Program, targeting senior government officials, from every ministry.
The Government recognizes the importance of developing future-ready government leaders and policy makers, equipped with the knowledge, skills, and best practices necessary to adapt to global changes and transformations. The government is dedicated to developing their leadership skills, empowering them as change agents capable of leading innovation and contributing to the overall success of the administration.
Excellencies, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Since assuming office last November, His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has made the advancement of human resources and capacity building within the Government and State Institutions a top priority, particularly at leadership levels.
It is with this understanding that the government is committed to build institutional capabilities and enhance organizational performance through collaborative initiatives and joint efforts with friendly and neighbouring countries.
I am confident that with the assistance of the UAE, this Program will serve as a motivator for the participants to guide the Maldives, along the path that the UAE has taken in achieving its development goals.
Before I conclude, I would like to once again express my sincere gratitude to the government of the UAE for their generous assistance in building the capacity of Maldivian government officials, as well as for the continued support for the development and modernization of the Maldivian public sector.
