Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef has met with the Maldivian contingent participating in the Paris 2024 Olympics, offering words of encouragement to the local athletes competing in this year’s competition. The meeting took place at a dinner held with the athletes tonight during his current visit to Paris, France, where he is scheduled to attend the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics.
The Vice President underscored the Administration’s unparalleled commitment to the advancement of sports nationwide.
This year, a record number of five Maldivians will compete in the Paris 2024 Olympics, signifying the highest level of participation from the country to date.
Fathimath Dheema Ali, a table tennis player, and Ibadulla Adam, a sprinter, were honoured with the prestigious opportunity to bear the national flag during the Opening Ceremony of the Olympic Games.
