The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Maldives, Her Excellency Ms. Miyon Lee presented her Letters of Credence to the President, His Excellency Dr Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony held this morning at the President's Office.
The Ambassador was escorted to the President’s Office from the Republic Square in a cultural procession “Haiykolhu” with MNDF Drum and Trumpet Band.
The Ambassador presented her Letters of Credence to the President, who accepted it and welcomed her as the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to the Maldives.
Following the presentation, the President and the Ambassador discussed enhancing cooperation between the two countries, including in health sector development, tourism, and technical capacity building for public health and housing sector cooperation.
Diplomatic Relations between Maldives and Korea was established on 30th November 1967.
The Ambassador is accredited to the Maldives as non-resident Ambassador and resides in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
