President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has decided to proceed with the "Government's Legislative Agenda 2023-2028," which includes bills approved by the Cabinet to be submitted to Parliament during the current five-year term.
This decision followed discussions on a paper submitted by the Attorney General's Office during today's Cabinet meeting.
The Government's legislative agenda outlines the bills that the new Administration plans to submit to Parliament during its five-year term. It encompasses legislative reforms necessary for good governance and to ensure the safety and prosperity of the country and its citizens.
The legislative agenda comprises a total of 213 bills across 15 sectors. This includes drafting bills for 78 new acts and 135 bills aimed at amending existing laws that require revision or repeal.
