President Dr Mohamed Muizzu ensured access to housing for all residents and people residing in the greater Malé region within the current five-year term by reiterating the Administration's commitment to resolving housing issues in the greater Malé region. He made the remarks during a visit to Giraavaru Falhu, Gulhi Falhu, and Hulhumalé Phase 3 today to observe the newest progress in the land reclamation projects.
In his remarks, the President affirmed his close attention to initiatives that benefit Maldivians and ensured that such efforts provided the most favourable outcomes.
President Dr Muizzu updated the media on the progress of each project he visited, namely Hulhumalé Phase 3, Giraavaru Falhu, and the Gulhi Falhu land reclamation endeavour. These updates encompassed proposed developments in the respective areas and anticipated completion dates. Furthermore, he provided updates on developing basic infrastructure in these areas.
During his visit to the Gulhi Falhu land reclamation site, the President relayed to the media the Administration's aim to complete the Gulhi Falhu project three months ahead of schedule.
He additionally noted that the reclamation of the extended area of Giraavaru Falhu had started today, and efforts were also underway to speed up the mobilisation of additional dredgers. President Dr Muizzu added that the acquired land allocation procedure will commence soon.
Furthermore, the President acknowledged the uninterrupted progress of the land reclamation efforts and projected that the "full scope" of land reclamation in Hulhumalé Phase 3 would be completed within four months.
