President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the L. Maabaidhoo Council and Women’s Development Committee (WDC) members to discuss the island's key concerns and vital needs. The meeting took place at the Dhan'bidhoo School.

At the meeting, the Council emphasised the urgency of finding an immediate solution for the soil erosion and access to banking services. The members informed the President of the necessity for a new building to house the Laamu Atoll School and the Council administration office. Additionally, they requested that the island's health centre be converted into a 24-hour facility.

The Council members further discussed ways to increase job opportunities for the island’s residents. Members of the WDC requested an increase in their provided allowances during the meeting.
