President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the M. Dhiggaru Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members at the Dhiggaru Health Centre to discuss their developmental needs.
The Council Members highlighted the pressing need for a banking service and requested shore protection for the reclaimed area, road development, and addressed staff shortages at the Health Centre. They emphasized the necessity for housing units, the provision of essential utility services such as water, sewage, and power to the newly populated area, and upgrading the electricity network of the island.
At the meeting, Women's Development Committee members emphasised the importance of Ramadan allowance for them.
The President discussed potential solutions to the issues and concerns, assuring the Council Members that all their needs would be addressed. The Ministers in attendance provided updates on the Government's current initiatives to resolve the issues raised by the Council.
