President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has held discussions with the Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) of Dhonfanu Island, South Maalhosmadulu Atoll, to address the essential developmental needs of the island. The meeting was held on Sunday at the Secretariat of the South Maalhosmadulu Atoll Council.
The Council emphasised the necessity of a designated picnic island for the island’s residents, expanding land areas for housing, resolving the space shortage at the School and Health Centre, providing laboratory services, expediting the water and sewerage project, and implementing proposed modifications for the harbour.
The Council also highlighted the need for additional machinery for solid waste management and the facilitation of land allotment for residential purposes.
President Dr Muizzu, along with the Cabinet Ministers present at the meeting, provided the latest updates on the issues raised by the Council.
