President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the Sh. Maroshi Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) members. The meeting was held at the Shaviyani Atoll Education Centre.
At the meeting, Council members shared their development needs with the President. Council members highlighted their most significant concern as the need for harbour modifications. They provided detailed insights into the specific issues related to this critical matter. Council members also highlighted the need for shore protection, ATM services on the island, land reclamation, and the construction of a mosque. Council members also sought information on the progress of the budgeted developmental projects for the island.
At the meeting, WDC members expressed concerns about their need for office space and relayed the challenges resulting from budgetary constraints.
In response, the President stated that the Administration would work towards addressing the points raised by the Council. The Ministers in attendance shared the latest updates on the Government's efforts to address the issues.
