President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the members of the HA. Baarah Island Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC). The meeting was held at the Baarah School.

During the meeting, the Council relayed the key concerns of the community to the President. These include
the space constraints in the Council office, the preservation of historical and archaeological sites on the island, the necessity for a sports arena for the youth, and a request for an increased number of doctors to enhance healthcare facilities. The members also addressed the transportation challenges, along with the need for the installation of Fish Aggregating Devices to promote youth engagement in sport fishing.

The Women's Development Committee of the Island also shared the challenges they face, including budgetary constraints and a shortage of workspace. Their requests included a designated area for women at the beach and the establishment of sewerage services on the island.

President Dr Muizzu reaffirmed his commitment to resolving the issues highlighted by the Council. The attending ministers also provided updates on the Government's initiatives regarding the Council's concerns.
