The President met with the HA. Uligamu Island Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC). The meeting took place at the Thuraakunu School.
The Council members emphasised the importance of initiating steps to empower youth, tourism development, and the necessity of expediting developmental projects. They relayed the need for a new health centre and highlighted space constraints in the harbour. They also noted establishing a waste management centre as their top priority for the community's development.
The WDC members also highlighted the challenges they faced due to space constraints in the office.
The President assured the Council members that the government would make every effort to address the issues raised by the Council. The Ministers in attendance provided updates on the concerns and projects highlighted by the Council.
