Vice President Hussain Mohamed Latheef inaugurated the project to establish laboratory services on 76 islands that previously did not have access to laboratory services. He inaugurated the project at a special ceremony held at the Uduvila Hall of Dharumavantha Hospital this afternoon.
At the ceremony, the Vice President said that the Administration prioritises providing standardised healthcare for citizens nationwide. In this regard, the Vice President revealed that planning and implementing a project to offer healthcare laboratory services nationwide was a key initiative under the Administration's "Hafuthaa 14" roadmap.
In this regard, the Vice President stated that, as part of the project, healthcare laboratories were launched on four islands that previously did not have access to laboratory services today. He announced that the Administration would develop healthcare laboratories on the remaining 72 islands before May 2024.
The Vice President emphasised that easing healthcare access for all and building confidence in the healthcare sector are the primary focuses of the Administration. He added that the government would deliver the most sought-after medical services to the people as soon as possible.
