President Dr Mohamed Muizzu announced that GA. Gemanafushi, known for its fishing, will develop its harbour into an industrial hub. He made the remarks while speaking with Gemanafushi residents during his visit to the island on his ongoing tour of several islands in Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, and the North and South Huvadhu Atolls.
In his remarks, the President reiterated the Administration's commitment to the island's development, particularly with a strategic emphasis on advancing the fisheries sector.
President Dr Muizzu further noted today's meeting with the Gemanafushi Council, where the members addressed several issues pertinent to the island. He assured that implementing these issues would be the top priority for the Administration. The President also committed to continuing the ongoing work at Gemanafushi.
The President further noted that Parliamentary backing would pave the way for the Government to bring straightforward development to the nation. He also emphasised the importance of having the people's support and appealed to them to cooperate with the Government's efforts.
A high-level Government delegation accompanies the President on his tour of several islands in Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, and the North and South Huvadhu Atolls.
