Expressing his profound gratitude to the people of Thinadhoo City for placing their trust in him during the Presidential election, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu assured his commitment to uphold the trust. The President pledged to devote his efforts towards the comprehensive development of Thinadhoo City, transforming it into a fully realised urban centre. He made the remarks while speaking with the residents of Thinadhoo City.
At the meeting held at Thinadhoo School, the President detailed his plan for the comprehensive development of Thinadhoo City. The President stated that Thinadhoo is among the urban centres of the Administration's realisation of regional development.
Speaking on the signing of the Thinadhoo International Airport Development Project, the President said that the forthcoming airport in Thinadhoo City would be constructed per internationally recognised standards. He emphasised that the overwater airport would adhere to environmentally friendly practices. In addition, he announced the development of a flight training school and twelve resorts as integral components of the project, which are expected to stimulate job creation and economic growth in the region.
Speaking at the meeting, the President emphasised the importance of dialogue to resolve issues effectively. In this regard, the President expressed his desire to ensure that all citizens are treated equally, irrespective of their individual beliefs, and that it would bring harmony to the nation, advocating for the elimination of political prejudice. Adding that the Administration came into office to bring political stability, the President urged the wider public to unite for the nation's progress.
Delving into the nation's economic situation, the President recalled the poor financial decisions made by the previous Administration that had brought about the predicament. He then detailed the Administration's progressive efforts towards alleviating the nation's situation.
A high-level Government delegation accompanies the President on his tour of several islands in Addu City, Fuvahmulah City, and the North and South Huvadhu Atolls.
