President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the members of the South Huvadhu Atoll Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC) tonight. The meeting was held at the Secretariat of the South Huvadhu Atoll Council.

They highlighted the need for a modern state house to replace the existing one and emphasised the importance of having an uninhabited island under Atoll Council jurisdiction for economic benefits. The Council members also noted the challenges they face in recruiting technical staff, space constraints in the Council Secretariat, and the need to increase the profitability of the atoll shops and take steps to benefit the entire atoll.

The President updated the Council on the Government's course of action to resolve the issues highlighted by the Council and informed them about the Government's plan to extend the benefits of atoll shops in Malé to the atoll council.
