President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the members of the Thinadhoo City Council and the Women's Development Committee (WDC) today. The meeting was held at the Secretariat of the Thinadhoo City Council.

At the meeting, Council members relayed the need to expedite development projects, particularly those to upgrade the Thinadhoo Regional Hospital to tertiary standards and develop 200 housing units on the island. The Council also conveyed their need for the airport and bridge development projects to commence soon. In addition, the Council emphasised the need to create housing and economic and social development opportunities.

Speaking at the meeting, President Dr Muizzu stated that the Administration would address the concerns raised by the council and that the Administration gives precedence to bringing about regional development. The President then detailed the development of the southern development zone with Thinadhoo City as an urban centre, along with the southernmost three atolls combined.
