President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the Island Council and Women's Development Committee (WDC) of Kandoodhoo Island in the Kolhumadulu Atoll. The meeting was held at the secretariat of the Kandoodhoo council.

At the meeting, the council member outlined the requisite facilities and challenges confronting the health centre. The President was further briefed on the transportation impediments the islanders experienced and the port's deteriorating condition. The members also emphasised the necessity of an ATM and advocated constructing an airport on the island. The WDC additionally shared its concerns relating to their limited budget.

President Dr Muizzu promised that the government's relevant ministries would collaborate closely with the council to find cooperative solutions to the problems raised at the meeting.

Kandoodhoo Island is the second destination on the second day of President Dr Muizzu’s ongoing three-day tour of Kolhumadulu Atoll, accompanied by a delegation of high-level government officials.
