President Dr Mohamed Muizzu cast his vote today in the 2024 Malé City Mayoral elections and the by-elections to elect three councillors in the Maafannu Dhekunu, Medhu Henveiru, and Henveiru Dhekunu constituencies in the Malé City Council. The voting process took place at the polling station for the President's constituency at the Social Centre.
The elections conducted by the Elections Commission of the Maldives today are for the vacant Malé City mayoral position and three vacant councillor positions in the constituencies of Maafannu Dhekunu, Medhu Henveiru, and Henveiru Dhekunu wards. Alongside the Malé City council elections, a by-election to elect a member of the M. Mulah Women's Development Committee also occurred.
