President Dr Mohamed Muizzu announced the implementation of a new plan to mandate the daily commencement of school sessions with the National Anthem, effective in the upcoming academic year. He made this announcement in a press conference held at the President’s Office, following today's Cabinet meeting.

President Dr Muizzu elaborated on his decision to promote the National Anthem, love for the national flag, and overall nationalism among school students. Emphasising that instilling nationalism among the populace was one of the key campaign pledges of the current Administration, President Dr Muizzu said that today’s decision involves incorporating the National Anthem into the daily assembly at the beginning of school sessions, an initiative aiming to foster a sense of nationalism among students.

Comprehensive national-level programmes for schools that foster love for Islam, nationalism, and an appreciation for the country's history and culture are included in the current Administration's 'Hafuthaa 14' roadmap.
