President Mohamed Nasheed has discussed with the concerned authorities on the training programmes under the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), and the management of Maldives Institute for Technical and Vocational Training Education and Training (MIVET). The meeting was held this morning at the President’s Office.
Speaking at the meeting, the President said that the key objective of TVET was to train as many youth as possible and to make them productive and responsible citizens.
An introduction of the TVET was given by Ms Mariyam Noordeen, Director General of the Ministry of Human Resources, Youth and Sports while Ms Shafeeaa Zubair spoke on the operation of the MIVET.
Discussions were also held on the priority areas for training, courses to be offered at the MIVET and on seeking the cooperation of employees.
