President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Saturday cast his vote in the 2023 Presidential Elections. The voting process took place in the morning at the polling station for the President’s constituency, located in Jamaaluddin Scool.
The Maldives is conducting the 2023 Presidential Election this Saturday. The polling stations opened at 8 a.m. and will remain open until 4 p.m. As the Elections Commission of the Maldives reported, 282,395 individuals are eligible to participate in the election this year. The commission had made all necessary arrangements to ensure a smooth and fair electoral process.
A total of eight candidates submitted their nominations for the election. The presidential elections are held every five years where this periodic exercise of democracy allows the citizens to choose their leader and shape the future of the nation.
