President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih visited Angolhitheemu Island in Raa Atoll on Tuesday to celebrate the completion of several newly completed infrastructure projects initiated by his administration. During his visit, the President marked the completion of the upgraded harbour, FENAKA office, healthcare centre extension, and laboratory. These projects represent a significant step in developing the island's infrastructure and will significantly benefit its residents.

The harbour upgrading project on Angolhitheemu Island was completed by the Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). The project entailed a range of significant improvements, including the dredging of the harbour basin and channel, the construction of the breakwater and quay wall, the installation of portlights, and the construction of the pavement.

The newly developed healthcare centre extension on Angolhitheemu Island features a range of state-of-the-art facilities, including an administrative area for managing healthcare employees, a public health unit providing preventative and promotional health services, and compressor and storage rooms. Additionally, the newly opened FENAKA office, strategically situated on the island, is a spacious and modern facility with space for 30 employees.

Under President Solih's leadership, the administration has achieved significant strides towards equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. This includes enhancing the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives. During his visits to various islands, President Solih is officially inaugurating the completion of numerous projects and services.
