President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih officially inaugurated the newly upgraded harbour on Hinnavaru Island in Lhaviyani Atoll on Thursday. The completion of the harbour upgrading project was marked during the President's ongoing visit to several islands in the atoll.

The Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) was contracted to complete the harbour upgrading project. The project encompassed a range of significant improvements, including deepening the harbour basin, constructing a 123-metre breakwater and 114-metre groynes, and installing a 653-metre quay wall. Other pertinent harbour enhancement initiatives were also executed as part of the project.

Under President Solih's leadership, the administration has achieved significant strides towards equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives. This includes enhancing the quality of life for citizens and empowering them to lead dignified lives. During his visits to various islands, President Solih is officially inaugurating the completion of numerous projects and services.
