President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih inaugurated several newly completed infrastructure projects on Maamendhoo and Fonadhoo Islands in Laamu Atoll on Tuesday. These projects include a water supply network, a new powerhouse, the FENAKA office, an extension of the healthcare centre, and a new football ground on Maamendhoo Island.
President Solih also inaugurated the new FENAKA office on Fonadhoo Island, marking the completion of several infrastructure projects during his ongoing tour of Laamu Atoll. These improvements represent significant investments in the development and well-being of the local communities and will enhance the quality of life for Maamendhoo and Fonadhoo Island residents.
Raiza Pvt. Ltd. constructed the healthcare centre extension on Maamendhoo Island to include administrative offices, public health and health education units, and a store room. Additionally, space has been allocated for a laboratory within the healthcare centre. These new facilities will significantly enhance healthcare services for the local community.
S.M.C. Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. constructed the water supply network on Maamendhoo Island as part of the administration's initiative to develop such networks on all inhabited islands. The newly built powerhouse has a generating capacity of 1,060 kilowatts, providing a reliable power source to the local community.
The newly inaugurated football ground on Maamendhoo Island boasts state-of-the-art amenities and facilities, including a turf-layered playing surface. Nexta Maldives Pvt. Ltd. laid the subbase layer of the football ground, while the turf was installed by Amin Construction Pvt. Ltd. Additionally, the newly developed FENAKA offices on Maamendhoo and Fonadhoo Islands are modern and spacious, providing an improved working environment for employees. These developments represent significant investments in the infrastructure and well-being of the local communities.
Under President Solih's leadership, the administration has achieved significant strides towards equitable development across all inhabited islands in the Maldives.
