President Mohamed Nasheed has sent a message of sympathy to President Felipe Calderon Hinojosa of Mexico on learning about the fire accident in north-western Mexico. The President’s message reads as follows:

“It was with deep sadness that I learned of the death of many children in a fire accident at a day-care centre in north-western Mexico. At this most difficult hour, my thoughts and prayers are with all those parents and families who have lost their children in this tragedy. I would also like to send my heartfelt sympathy to you, the government of Mexico, and especially to the injured children and their families. I wish them a speedy and full recovery.”
