The Member States of the Colombo Security Conclave (CSC) comprising India, Maldives, Mauritius and Sri Lanka, held the 7th Deputy National Security Adviser level meeting virtually on 12 July 2023. Delegations from Bangladesh and Seychelles participated as Observers.
Their Excellencies, Shri Vikram Misri, Deputy National Security Adviser, Republic of India, Ms. Aishath Nooshin Waheed, Secretary, National Security Advisor’s Office of the Republic of Maldives, Mr. Yoidhisteer Thecka, Principal Coordinator Security Matters, Prime Minister’s Office, Republic of Mauritius and General Shavendra Silva, WWV, RWP, RSP, VSV, USP, ndc, psc, MPhil, Chief of Defence Staff, Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka reviewed the decisions taken at the 5th NSA Meeting held on 9-10 March 2022 and the 6th Deputy NSA level meeting held on 7 July 2022. They also reviewed the progress of activities under the different pillars of cooperation and discussed new proposals for activities in 2023-2024. Member States agreed to conduct the 8th Deputy NSA meeting in the first quarter of 2024.
The Secretariat of CSC in Colombo, Sri Lanka, was represented by the Acting Secretary Commodore AD Weerasinghe RSP, psc. The delegation from Bangladesh was led by Lt. Gen. Waker Uz Zaman, SGP, psc, Principal Security Officer, Armed Forces Division while Seychelles was represented by Captain Wilven Jean, Chief of Strategic Plans, Policy and Engagement of Seychelles Defence Forces.
The 6th NSA level Meeting of the CSC is scheduled to be held in Mauritius on 5-6 October 2023.
