The National Awards Committee announced on Monday the closing of nominations for the President's National Award for Special Achievement. Interested parties and individuals have until 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023, to submit their nomination forms through the designated "Form Hushahelhun" portal on the President's Office website at http://apply.presidency.gov.mv.
The Special Awards Committee urges individuals to carefully adhere to the requirements outlined in the Gazette, which specify that nominations for the awards must be accompanied by the respective form for each award category.
According to the Special Awards Committee, for individuals holding qualification certificates between Maldives Qualification Authority (MQA) levels 7 and 9 who have secured first place in their respective programmes, the submission should include supporting documentation or certificates from the relevant educational institutions confirming the first-place achievement. The official transcripts containing the grade point should also be provided. In the case of programmes completed at foreign higher education institutions, copies of MQA-approved certificates are required as part of the application process.
This year's awards encompass four distinct categories, with the first category specifically focused on recognising individuals who have achieved notable accomplishments in higher education and training. The second category is designed to honour individuals who have performed exceptionally or attained the highest position in an international competition or exhibition.
The third category focuses explicitly on individuals who have showcased innovation and entrepreneurship by developing practical solutions or presenting outstanding resolutions through their academic research on significant national challenges. The final category would recognise and honour exceptionally talented young individuals who have demonstrated remarkable creativity and innovation in their respective fields of expertise, positively impacting the progress and development of the nation.
