President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih reaffirmed the administration's commitment to the development of Dharanboodhoo Island in line with the aspirations and needs of its youth. He conveyed this message during his meeting with the residential community of Dharanboodhoo Island in the Faafu Atoll on Saturday.
The President is undertaking an official visit to five islands in the Faafu Atoll. During this visit, he engages with the residential community of these islands, actively listens to their concerns, engages in discussions, and gathers valuable insights on how to advance the development of the islands.
At the meeting conducted at the harbour area of Dharanboodhoo Island, the residential community expressed their concerns regarding challenges in accessing employment opportunities, the absence of adequate sports facilities, and the lack of sports competitions to foster social connections.
Acknowledging the concerns raised by the residential community of Dharanboodhoo Island, President Solih affirmed the administration's commitment to addressing these issues. He assured the community that the government would provide comprehensive details on overcoming budget constraints and fulfilling the significant pledges made to the people.
The President and the First Lady are joined by a high-level government delegation on their official visit to the inhabited islands of the North Nilandhe Atoll. Following their current visit, the next destination on their itinerary will be Magoodhoo Island.
